Installing Kali Linux in VMware Workstation

Important Note * — You can Click on the Image to see it in Full Screen for Better Understanding

 

1)Open up the VMware Workstation installed on your PC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2)Click on the Create a New Virtual Machine option. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)A New Virtual Machine Wizard will be opened.Choose the Typical Option and Click on the Next Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4)Choose the Option I will Install the Operating System Later and Click on the Next Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5)Under the Guest Operating System Menu Choose the Linux Option and  under Version Menu choose Ubuntu or Ubuntu 64 bit depending on the Image you have Downloaded of Kali Linux.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6)Choose the Virtual Machine Name as Kali Linux and you can Also choose the Location of the Virtual Machines to be stored.And Then Click on the Next Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7)You can Choose the Maximum Disk Size.Let it be 20 gb only.Kali Linux does not need much size and Choose option Split Virtual Disks into multiple Files and Click on Next Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

8)Click on the Customize Hardware button and Choose the Configuration of the Kali Linux.You can Choose here the Ram to be Allocated to Kali Linux and the number of Processors to be given to the Kali Linux System.

 

 

 

 

 

 

9)Click on the Close Button and then Click on the Finish Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

10)Click on the Edit Virtual Machine Settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

11)Click on the CD/DVD(SATA) Option under the Hardware Menu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

12)Click on the Use ISO Image File and Select the Location where the ISO image file has been Downloaded.

 

 

 

 

 

 

13)Under the Options Menu Click on the Shared Folders and  at the right side click on the Always Enabled option and Click on the OK Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

14)Click on the Do not Show this Message again and Click on the OK button.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

15)Click on the Graphical Install Option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

16)In the Select a Language Window Choose English Language and Click on the Continue Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

17)In the Select your Location Window Choose your Specific Country and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

18)In the Configure The Keybboard Window Choose your Keymap and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

19)In the Configure the Network Window Choose your Host Name and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

20)In the Configure the Network Window Choose Domain name and Click on the Continue button.You can Choose domain name as Empty also.

 

 

 

 

 

 

21)In the Set up Users and Passwords Window Choose your Password and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

22)In the Partitions Disk Window Choose Guided-Choose Entire Disk and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

23)In the Partitions Disk Window only one Option would be selected and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

24)In the Partitions Disk Window Choose All Files in one Partition and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

25)In the Partitions Disk Window Choose Finish Partitioning and Write Changes To Disk and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

26)In the Partitions Disk Window Choose yes option and Click on the Continue button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

27)In the Configure the Package Manager Window under Use a Network Mirror Choose Yes Option and Click on the Continue Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

28)In the Configure the Package Manager Window under HTTP Proxy Information menu Do nothing and  Click on the Continue Button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

29)In the Install the GRUB Boot Loader on a Hard Disk Window under the Install the GRUB Boot Loader to the Master Boot Record menu Choose Yes Option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

30)In the Install the GRUB Boot Loader on a Hard Disk Window under the Device for Boot Loader Installation menu Choose your Hard Disk.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
31)In the Finish the Installation Window Click on the the Continue Option.
